Landmark Life Events....

You know you are getting old when you realise that your next birthday will be 50 years since you became a teenager.. Yep that's me!

I got thinking the other day, what dates in the year 1972 should I celebrate that made an impact on my life all these years later?

It was that year that I really started to take an interest in pop music for various reasons. And looking at my album collection of what music I still listen to 50 years later, a lot of it was first released from 1972 onwards.

I did some further research on the dates or at least the months when particular albums were released and I've started to make notes of these in my organiser.

I then started looking at films (movies) that came out back then. Most of them you will see at Christmas on TV! All the old favourites.

March this year it is 50 years since 'Dirty Harry' was first shown, the Clint Eastwood Police film with the infamous line 'Make my day punk' ! Call me old fashioned but they don't make them like that any more!!!

This is starting to build up in layers of things to remember, I might have to resort to using a separate nostalgia month per page diary insert!

Do you remember dates from the past in your organiser?

  1. I really love this idea! I mainly note dates like when we got our pets or anniversaries, but I want to start recording more detailed things to remember for the future.

  2. This sounds a lot like something Ryder Carroll talked about in the 2022 bullet Journal webinar that he did a few weeks ago. He called it the Timeline, which I hadn't heard of before, and he said it's like a line-a-day quick-jot thing, but instead of what you have scheduled to happen, it's what *actually* happened. This information would happily slot into that kind of a page in the ol' Filo.
