  1. Advice please. I'm about to go shopping for another A5 Finsbury and I'm doing this on the basis of needing the 30mm rings. I recall that not all versions of the Finsbury are 30mm - is this correct? Is it worth checking with the seller in each case?

    Many thanks

    1. Not all A5 Malden's had 30mm rings some in the first batch got fitted with 25mm rings.

All A5 Finsbury's as far as I know are 30mm rings
A5 Holborn Clasp are 25mm but A5 Holborn Zip are 30mm

    2. Thanks Steve, really helpful as always. Not looking for a Malden (too 'floppy', I have a Kendal but it's getting a bit past it. I like the structure in the Finsbury so that's what I think I'll go for.

Holborn's a lovely binder but I find the zip binders too bulky!

      Thanks again.

Are we Skypeing this Sunday? :D

    4. The Holborn A5 is quite compact in clasp form and has a great pocket layout. The zip one has the bigger rings but it doesn't have the same pocket layout as the clasp one.

    5. I’ve got a Holborn A5 that I bought from City Organiser (so, a few years ago!). I carefully removed the 25mm ring mech and replaced it with a 30mm from an old Filofax Logic. It worked well, but it was just at the time that I was streamlining my paper systems and going Slimline. You’re welcome to borrow it, with both ring mechs, to see if a 30mm clasp model might suit your needs. Tim

  2. David, I once had a Finsbury A5 in black and it was a stunner of a binder, (until a one time one off cleaner threw it out, long story!!)
