Free For All Friday - No. 797 by Steve

I have often seen the comment 'This size isn't working for me' or "These inserts don't work for me" or similar.

But how do you decide when something 'isn't working'? At what point is it time to look for an alternative?

Of course with it being Friday, please feel free to discuss anything else organiser related.

Have a good weekend, come and join in the chat if you are free on Saturday or Sunday.

  1. For me if i can't put in what I want to then it's not working. For example, if the diary doesn't have enough entry space for things to be clear then it doesn't work for me. If I can't fit what I want to write in it, also doesn't work for me. It's about fulfilling purpose you have for it. No good having a tool that you can't use for its intended purpose.

  2. I usually stay in one size/layout until I need more space, less weight in my bag or whatever. My needs change in different periods of my life, so my planning system does.

  3. The biggest sign something isn’t working for me is that I end up just not using it and my planning stops working. Then it’s time to change things up. Frances

  4. Three things that I can think of. First, it's working if I usually remember what I'm supposed to be doing and when. Secondly, there has to be enough space to write what I want to write. Third, I have to be able to bring my planner with me without getting backache.
