Travel Organiser?

When you travel or you are frequently away from home, do you change what type of organiser you use?

I tend towards using an A5 Zip as they can be put in and out of a back without worrying about loose papers slipping out undetected.

I have two A5 Zip organisers, a Filofax Lockwood (left) and a Filofax Holborn (right)

The Lockwood is quite compact with 25mm rings, the Holborn has 30 mm rings but the leather is very soft and supple. Both will fit in my backpack without any issues at all.

Do you change size or type of organiser when you travel?

  1. When I travel I tend to use a folder I don't mind loosing. I also go down to a mini sized one. Although usually I do need at least a page for dates that I need to deal with once I get home. I think I may have to take a month on one page and a dot grid page with all my dates on to mitigate this. I try to travel light but I do miss my planner when I don't have it with me.

  2. Lockwood Pocket Slim in trouser pocket for me (usually my old Cognac as featured on here in September 2016!).
Passport goes in loose, EHIC card and driving licence go in slots/pockets plus a bit of local cash. Rings mainly plain paper for making notes. Boarding cards, rail tickets etc all go in Apple Wallet. Other necessary documents stored in Agenda on iPhone.

  3. Although I used to covet a Travelfax (simply because it fit the old IBM punchcard sized boarding passes), the truth is, I don't change my Filofax when I travel, although with recent developments in US politics, I may start doing so, because a Filofax is a physical object that can be confiscated and inspected. Up until now, I have simply taken my usual Filofax.

    1. I have always kept my travel Filofax separate. Prepping the trip into a dedicated organiser is half the fun.
