    1. You make a good observation there, and I will second it.
Special celebrations in three years time would be in order.

  2. I am fairly new to the organizer game, but strangely old to it as well. I will explain. I am a 47 year old man who loves the concept of organizing his life completely with this magical little book of "helps", and I have tried over the past 27 years to be faithful to the cause. Unfortunately, I have succumbed to leaving it here and there and many times forgetting it completely. After a renewed pattern of this behavior, it eventually gets lost in the shuffle only to be rediscovered a year later. I will try it again, and the same thing happens. My problem is that this "book" is not like a wallet that I keep with me all the time. As a man, I don't carry a purse. If I had normal hours at an office every day, I may be more responsible to throw it in a satchel, but I'm afraid on the weekends with my running to and fro, it would become MIA. Any suggestions for an active man that adores his beautiful, dark brown, well worn, leather A5 organizer with all the custom bells and whistles? How do I practically keep it with me at a stones throw most of the time? Thanks!

    1. Hi Shane - I assume MIA means “Missing In Action”? I love A5 and have tried various ways of slimming down my binder to encourage me to always have it with me. Search “Compact A5” and you’ll find a typical post by me from 2012, for example.

Personally, I had to give up always having the A5 with me. I’ve tried all sorts of options but only a Slimline (now called Personal Slim) or a Pocket size has worked for me. For an organiser to work for me, it has to be with me at all times. Women may have a handbag or clutch bag. I usually only have my trouser pocket - so a Pocket size as a satellite to an A5 is a good option.

  3. Thanks Tim, I'll look into the Pocket size. I do struggle with the satellite idea though. It's kind of a tune off to the simplicity of organizers if you have to use two. I don't want to give up the a5 size, but maybe I'll like the pocket size enough to retire the a5. Do they make leather ones that actually fit in a man's pocket that aren't ridiculously thick and super durable? That's the next really good question!
