It is Tuesday after all so fire away.
I've been tinkering with a script to print personal inserts on A4 paper without wasting paper. That means fitting three personal pages on one sheet of A4 and shuffling those pages so they duplex print in the right order. It seems finished but I haven't tried actually printing those pages yet (since I don't have a printer at home). When I'm sure it works as intended I'd be happy to share it with the Philofaxy crowd :)
ReplyDeleteHi
DeleteI've tried this myself in the past, with three pages side by side that is 95 mm x 3 = 285 mm, with an A4 page being 297mm, you only have margins of 6mm top and bottom.
A lot of printers will not go that narrow, especially the bottom margin, my own laser printer needs a bottom margin of 15 mm to feed the paper. But yours might be less than that.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Well I tried printing a few pages yesterday and it worked! I have a blog post describing the program and how to get it here: http://spelafela.com/2017/09/28/personal-planner-printer/
DeleteThe download is a "bare" python script and a bundled Mac standalone app. I don't have any computer running Windows so I can't create a Windows app, but perhaps someone else could do that.
Thank you for that, I will take a look. I use a Mac !
