Birthdays

Did you know that yesterday was the 86th birthday of the character Mikey Mouse the Walt Disney character.

Do you record birthdays or reminders of them electronically or on paper. For me I have them in my organiser in the diary insert it self. There are one or two that still require cards to be sent so there is a reminder of these about a week before as well.

I have used a single page with all the dates on as a list (Birthdays and Anniversary - .docx .pdf ), but I often found I wasn't looking at that page of my organiser, I much prefer dates and reminders to be in the diary rather than else where.

How about you?

  1. No electronic reminders for me (I don't even have a smart phone).
On paper I use a single page in my information section, that I use as a reference to fill out new months in my diary section.

  2. I have a holiday/birthday/gift planner that is separate from my everyday planner. I keep a list of birthdays and holidays that required gift giving in there as well as some other stuff. In my everyday planner, I do write the birthdays on the monthly layout and again on the day in the weekly.

  3. Birthdays get entered on my monthly calendars (usually with just a mark-it dot on the date and a list at the side) at the beginning of the year. I keep a list in my reference binder that is tweaked as new births and passings occur during the year (frequency of both seem to be increasing as time rolls along).

  4. I admit I am a blasphemer... I haven't used a Filofax as a diary for quite some years now, so I get an email reminder for birthdays from Google calendar.

  5. Hi, my name is Julia. I have been reading Philofaxy and other planner blogs for a while but never commented. I keep birthdays in my weekly and monthly spread. I print my own inserts and all the birthdays and other information is pulled onto the inserts automatically from a database. That way I don't have to rewrite the same information every year. It works well for me.

    1. Hi Julia, I'd be interested to know how you do this as I do my own inserts too using the source files from this site.

    3. Hi Sam, I have all information organised in an Excel spreadsheet on different worksheets. That same file contains insert templates and various macros that populate the inserts upon button click. I select which month or which week and it is ready to print in a second. What do you use to create and print your inserts?
