  1. Filofax used to sell perforated A4 paper to print out pages. Is this still available anywhere’s?

  3. Does anyone have suggestions on setting up GTD in your filofax? I am reading his book and have began using some of his suggestions but feel overwhelmed.

  4. I've tweaked the GTD system to make it easier for me to use:
Section 1 of my planner includes a monthly calendar for the entire year (birthdays, appointments, events, holidays, etc.), a weekly calendar for each week of the current month, and my daily pages for this month. Each morning I check the monthly and weekly calendars and plan my day on the daily page.

Section 2 is the "Important Info" section-Just a few select addresses and phone numbers to remember, "Insurance" info for medical, car and house, "Handymen" info (phone numbers and last time we used them), "Have Ordered" items to track the arrival of things I've ordered, "Filters" for fridge and furnace filter sizes, etc. These lists are filed alphabetically.

Section 3 is "To Buys"-Alphabetically one page per store or on-line store. (Coupons here with store to use them at.) Also, a list of "Cards to Buy", and each person has a page with their sizes, favorite colors, interests, and gift ideas.

Section 4 is "To Dos"-Alphabetically by area each room in house on separate sheets (Bath To Dos, Kitchen To Dos....), "Calls to Make", "Computer To Dos" has websites to look up when I am near the computer. Also, "Trips to Take", "Movies to Rent", "Books to Read", "Packing List", "Work Projects".... I review these lists every Friday for the weekend, and then again on Sunday to plan how I want my week to look. Break all these to do lists down into small to dos to move forward on your lists. Plug these small to dos in throughout your week on the weekly pages so it's not so overwhelming.

I've been using this system for quite awhile and nothing slips through the cracks. Hope this helps!!

    2. Thank you! Your system sounds great! I think that I need to tweak GTD to fit my needs as well.

  5. I am currently using a black Personal sized Malden--you can really stuff it!! -Plus, it is easy to throw in my purse and ALL info is with me (love that!). This past winter I went back to a black A5 Malibu Franklin Planner because of major work projects, my son's wedding, and Christmas to dos, but it was too heavy to carry. --So each day I had a 1 inch "At-A-Glance" 3-ring planner for my "Take with me" planner in my purse with just the upcoming monthly calendars on two pages though the end of the year, this week's weekly pages on two pages, and this week's daily pages. It also included the "To Buy" section I would need while away from home, and my "Work Projects" lists for work. With Spring here, it just seemed too heavy to carry--a personal size is better for me at this time. I suffer like the rest of you--I can't decide on a size and flip back and forth, however I do like my system and I don't change that. It works for me.

Just a side-note: I got wonderful tips on setting up my system from Anita Lim (love everything she does!), Neil of "Filofax Filosophy" (his simple system is my goal--come back, Neil!!), and an older website "homemakersdaily.com" (how to manage the day to day). Of course, Philofaxy is the best website and community on the internet!!!-Thanks, Steve!!!
