  1. Question! Is this new picture fancy photoshop or did you actually scan it? :) Love how it looks, by the way!

    2. It's real I used a typewriter font (although I would love a manual typewriter of my own!) and printed it on to FF paper, and then scanned it in, even the paper clip is a real one!

    3. If you need anything typed just give me a shout. I have a few manual typewriters around in working condition. I type most of my letters these days. Easier that handwriting but much more personality than computer typing.

    4. Steve, Can I ask which font you used for this? I really like it.

    5. Adler as in the old typewriter brand:

    1. Not Filo, but Write in the Rain makes some excellent gear that is Filo compatible with the personal size.

    2. Also, Franklin Covey Compact zip binders work with FF Personal pages. There were several Sporty models that can be found on eBay for cheap.

    3. I see them come up pretty regularly on ebay UK. They usually go for about £10 and most of the ones I noticed were blue.

  3. Do you think it is possible for an A5 Lyndhurst can have its rings swapped with 30mm and stil be usable? And is there a user guide to swapping filofax rings?

    1. If they are riveted in? Then it is not that easy to do. But the ones that slot on are a bit easier.

  4. I have a very battered Siena in need of a deep clean. In fact she probably needs a dry clean. Can it be done? Or is there a good product out there which will remove the stains of years of loving use and abuse? Since it isn't glossy it doesn't just wipe off and I don't want to make the matter worse. Thanks!

    1. You could try a neutral leather creme. It contains fats that would dissolve other excess fats in leather. Also, if there´s discolouration in the leather that you´d want to mend, Use coloured leather creme. After generous application, wipe excess off and rub vigorously. Repeat if needed. Than apply a neutral leather wax, preferably one with oils in it and let sit for min.15 mins. Then rub it off. This will at least even the discolouration and also nourish the leather. You can repeat the treatment on daily basis if needed, there is no such thing as overconditioning leather.

    2. Thank you so much for that tip. I am hoping I can avoid making her darker as I love the cinnamon colour, but I will try the leather creme - at least it can't do any harm. Cheers!

    3. I believe Nivea creme is regularly recommended as being good for leather. As always test a small amount on an inconspicuous area first!

    4. Hi, yes, that is indeed a top tip and I am pretty sure I did that a while back but it didn't really make it any better - just made the leather softer, no cleaner. I also tried leather cleaner which achieved nothing and made it darker. But in the meantime I have loaded up an old but unused Hampstead and discovered it has outside pockets and two elasticated pen loops ... so I am happy for now!

    5. LM, find a leather creme that is a shade lighter than leather. Colour will build up during applications and a wax will darken a tone as well (this is due to added moisture in leather) but the neutral fats will fade lighter as leather loses its moisture as time goes by.

  5. I bought a couple of accessories for my compact Filofax. One is a Dayrunner clear ruler that is designed for a personal binder. It is a bit wider and shorter than the personal Filofax one but it peeks out enough at the top. I was looking for the frosted Filofax ruler but I think it may be discontinued. The Dayrunner one is similar to my frosted Filofax A5 ruler. I also bought a pack of Daytimer soft hues pockets. There is just one pocket on the front of the item. It is multifunctional if you attach a pen loop to it. I have not attached a pen loop to it because I am using a multi ink pen which I clip on the binder pen loop.

  6. Trying Personal size again and luckily the Malden is still ready to deal with March. The A5 Finchley is just too heavy for my bag even trimmed to the basics. Now I find the month to an opening looks SO tiny. O where is my B6 Filo?

  7. Hello :) just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on a personal zipped Holborn? I've read Steves post on the a5 and another helpful post which compares zipped ones to clasped ones in bith personal and a5, but just wondering about zipped ones in general, do they last ok, can they cope with being quite full etc. any thoughts appreciated :) thanks in advance

    1. I've used both my A5 & personal zipped Holborns successfully and found them to be great. As well as all my usual inserts (and then some) I found it great to be able to just stick other papers etc in there, knowing that I could zip it up and not have to think about whether it was secure in it's pocket, or likely to fall out. Love them :-)

    2. Thanks LJ for replying, yes I think I will be happy with zip, can't wait to buy one now :)

  8. I have a question about the Time Management series, or Business or whatever it seems to be called now. Are they sold on any of the other FF country sites for 2014? Or are are they exclusively UK? Because when I search the SKUs, I only get FF-UK, or other UK office supply sites.

  9. oh wow, I just pi8cked up a new Filofax clipbook from whsmiths. It. is. perfect. That whole personal page too small but a5 filo too heavy dilemma? This fixes it. I am a happy bunny - and they are cheap! And Lovely to handle! And have cool inserts and sturdy rings!!!
There is a promotional vid on youtube - but I can't seem to access it unless I scan the QR code on the clickbook packaging.

    1. I love my Clipbook! :D I have it in the fluoro pink which I just love, it is set up as my work notebook and I just love the fact that I can move stuff in and out and arrange it as I please. I wasn't quite sure what the point was when I first saw the Clipbooks but I definitely get it now I am using one. :-D
