Have we jumped a month?
ReplyDeleteJust seeing who was awake this morning :)
DeleteIt does look like it Jacqui, which would be a shame because we would have skipped World Turtle Day (May 23rd), as I learned from the Dull Men's Club link above!
ReplyDeleteWe can't let it go unremarked the news that our own Steve is to feature in the forthcoming book "Dull Men of Great Britain: Celebrating the Ordinary".
ReplyDeletePersonally I can't place ring-bound planners on a par with bricks, pylons or roundabouts in the spectrum of dullness, but I guess I am biased.
I don't regard myself as 'dull' either! But then I have a friend who sells cycling tops under the brand name "Fat Lad at the Back" and he wonders why I won't buy one! (He does Fat Lass at the Back too!)
DeleteI.e. Dullness is in the eye of the beholder?
DeleteYou're probably right there Tim. The inclusion in a guide book suggests what a neutral observer's view on this is likely to be!
Perhaps the real message is that when someone has an extra-ordinary take on something ordinary, the result can be noteworthy, humorous, and even transcendent from dull to interesting?
